Help us establish priorities for allocating funds from two
federal grant programs by attending a public meeting on Monday, Jan. 12 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at
the Santee City Hall Complex, Building 8A.

The city needs public input to establish a 5-year plan for
using the federal funds, which are aimed
at helping low and moderate income households in Santee.
The plan is intended
to provide policy guidance on distributing funds from the federal Community Development
Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership programs.
Block grant funds support activities ranging from affordable
housing to infrastructure, public improvements, economic development or other activities that benefit low - and
moderate-income households. Nonprofit groups such as the Santee Food Bank have received portions of this funding.
Home Investment Partnership funds are used to acquire or
rehabilitate single- or multi-family dwellings, and for tenant assistance
programs.
The city wants to identify specific needs, priorities and
strategies to address affordable housing, homeless and special needs, as well
as community and neighborhood revitalization over the next five years
(2015-2019).
